JDC Films announces today that on March 24, 2008 at 8:00pm at The Nickelodeon Theatre in Columbia, SC will be the movie premiere for the documentary, My Block: Strong Island.

The documentary My Block: Strong Island, is a story about 15 kids aging from 16 – 27 who are aspiring to do more with their lives other than becoming a “rapper” or an “athlete”. At its deepest, My Block: Strong Island is about determination and the need to persevere in order to achieve goals. It’s also about being steadfast and unmovable as dreamers take that next step forward no matter how difficult or frightening it may seem. Each step will culminate in a triumphant moment that brings them closer to their destiny.

Love is truly a workout. Love is destiny. Love is necessary. While based on a true story, a group of teenagers freshly out of high school undergo their first experience with the emotion beheld within “love”. Relentless in their approaches to not only find, but also to keep the “love” alive in their relationships, friendships become tarnished along the way. Throughout emotional and physical turmoil the characters are left with the question, “What will you do for love?”
